Prof. Dr. Bülent Aytaç graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1979. By completing his specialization at Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in 1984, he became a General Surgery Specialist. Later, he completed his military service in Gölcük Naval Hospital in 1986. Aytaç, who started his compulsory service in the General Surgery Clinic of the Ministry of Health, Ankara Training and Research Hospital in 1989, received the title of Associate Professor in 1990. After his duty as Deputy Chief Physician of Ankara State Railways Hospital, which he started in 1989, he started to work as the Chief Physician of the same hospital from 1992 until 2003. Since 2003, he has been appointed as a Faculty member to Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery. Since 2011, he has been the Head of Gazi University General Surgery Department. Dr. Bülent Aytaç has scientific publications in his field in many national and international journals. Aytaç, who is married and has two children, has a good command of English.
