After completing his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1993, he started his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine.
He became an Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist in 1999. Dr. Kanatlı was a lecturer in 2000, an Assist Professor in 2003, an Associate Professor in 2004 at the same clinic. Dr. Kanatlı was appointed as Professor in April 2010. He is currently working as a faculty member at Gazi University Orthopedics and Traumatology Department. Dr. Kanatlı orks with Haluk Yetkin also includes the pedobarography (gait analysis) laboratory in the USA.
